Mesa Veterinary Clinic

Our Services

General Services

  • 24 Hour Emergency Service

Emergencies can occur at any time. We accept large or small animal emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with an on-call veterinarian and experienced staff ready to help even on nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Boarding

Pets are like our children – we feed, nurture and lavish attention on them. Our highly qualified kennel attendants do the same when you can't be there. We provide tender loving care (such as brushing and cuddling), and supervised outdoor playtime to keep them happy and active.  We are also especially attentive to patients that have conditions that need daily treatment and supervision.

  • Immunization and Wellness Care

We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Our Wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: Comprehensive physical exam; internal parasite testing; heartworm and flea control; vaccination program; spay and neuter; and specialized blood tests for all life stages.

  • Blood Transfusion

We maintain a supply of blood for pets in case of emergency. The blood is collected from donor pets that live with their owners, and all blood is carefully screened for disease.

  • Acupuncture

Our clinic embraces the holistic approach to pet health and wellness. Dr. Tiffany Barr is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture through Colorado State University.  She is currently treating several patients for conditions such as arthritis, nerve injuries, muscle pain, back disease, urinary incontinence, allergies and to encourage healing after surgeries or wounds.  Acupuncture is a safe alternative to drugs or is often used in conjunction with certain medications or supplements, depending on the condition.  Please contact us for more information about acupuncture and its many uses.

  • Dental Care

Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup.   We can also discuss daily care and products to help keep your pets teeth healthy.
Dental care is also a large part of the overall health of horses.  Horses teeth are constantly growing and should be checked yearly to see if they need their teeth floated.

  • Hospice / Euthanasia Services

Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is painful. We work with clients to ensure their pet's comfort and dignity. We provide complimentary clay pawprints and we take care of the remains as directed by the client.  We offer private or group cremation through RoseLawn.

  • Internal Medicine

We cover all areas of internal medicine, including: Cardiology; Ophthalmology; Neurology; Dermatology; Gastroenterology; Orthopedic surgery; Oncology; Endocrinology; among others.

  • Microchipping

Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. We offer HomeAgain microchip products to increase the chances of a safe recovery.  You can learn more about HomeAgain products at HomeAgain.com or call 1-888-HOMEAGAIN.

  • Nutritional Counseling

Some pets require special food, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. Our trained and certified staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet to keep him or her happy, healthy and active.
Nutrition is also a key part for food animals and horses to maintain a healthy herd.  Often illnesses in food animals or horses are related to nutrition.  Please schedule an appointment or call and speak with one of our doctors to discuss the nutrition of your animals.

  • Pain Management

Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care.  Veterinary medicine has made great advancements in this area; both in recognizing and controlling pain in all animals.  We have a wide range of supplements and medications available as well as acupuncture and physical therapy advice.

  • Fully Stocked Pharmacy

We stock a wide range of the best veterinary drugs and supplies in the animal healthcare field.

  • Rabbits and other small mammals

Providing proper medical care for rabbits and small mammals requires specialized training and skills. We employ staff veterinarians who possess experience in the care and treatment of rabbits and small mammals. Our staff veterinarians can advise you as to the dietary, maintenance, hygiene and medical needs of your furry friend.

  • Radiology

Radiology – or X-rays – help our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular(cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems.  We have computed radiography which creates high quality images and allows us to easily send x-rays via email or upload to a disc.

  • Specialized Surgery

Our veterinary surgeons include specialists able to perform eye surgery, neurosurgery and orthopedic surgical procedures.

  • Surgery

We offer the most advanced surgical techniques and technology. All patients are carefully screened for safety, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet. Surgical services and facilities include: board certified surgeon available for consultation; fully trained veterinary and technical staff, to ensure the safest, most efficient, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet; heated surgery tables for greater comfort; advanced sterilization techniques; ECG and oxygen saturation monitors; intensive after surgery care and full blood testing.

  • UltraSound
